Whatever the motivation for creating abstract art, it’s sure to be a departure from reality. The human brain can only process so much information at one time and many artists are using this limitation as an opportunity by applying simplify shapes or textures in their work that allow viewers more opportunities when they look closer into what is being shown on screen (i..e., painting).

Abstract work by ZAK, a Calgary-based artist that shares his emotions through the works of acrylic, spray and oil on wood or canvas.

The style itself has been around since its inception date which was during Modernism’s rise across Europe but also became popularized here after World War II due largely thanks+toá Spazio Liense’ paintings like those featured above – think “Might Trees Have Been Here?”
